More fantastic swimming at day 2 at Durham, with Danielle and Niamh joining in the action, more PBs and medals gained too!

Session Timings

Session 1:

Warm-up times:

08:30 – 08:48: Girls born after 01 February 2011 and Boys born after 01 November 2011;

08:49 – 09:07: remainder of Girls (including all Girls from Haddington and Serres-Castet);

09:08 – 09:26: remainder of Boys (including all Boys from Haddington andSerres-Castet).

Heats start at 09:30 (anticipated finishing time 12:15 approx.).

Session 2:

Warm-up times:

13:00 – 13:18: Boys born after 01 January 2012 and Girls born after 01 July 2011;

13:19 – 13:37: remainder of Boys;

13:38 – 13:56: remainder of Girls.

Heats start at 14:00 (anticipated finishing time 16:15 approx.).

Session 3:

Warm-up times:

08:30 – 08:48: Boys born after 01 July 2012 and Girls born after 01 October 2011;

08:49 – 09:07: remainder of Boys;

09:08 – 09:26: remainder of Girls.

Heats start at 09:30 (anticipated finishing time 12:10 approx.).

Session 4:

Warm-up times:

13:00 – 13:18: Girls born after 01 October 2011 and Boys born after 01 April 2012;

13:19 – 13:37: remainder of Girls;

13:38 – 13:56: remainder of Boys.

Heats start at 14:00 (anticipated finishing time 16:30 approx.).

Swimmers will be admitted from 08:00; spectators will be admitted from 08:30.

Spectator tickets and start sheets will be available on the door on a first-come first-served basis; please be mindful of and respectful towards others.

There will be a raffle and cake stand adjacent to the admissions desk, as well as (hopefully) a second-hand kit stall selling fins, training aides, etc.

Coaches, officials and volunteers are kindly requested to bring a water bottle. As a Club, we are trying to reduce waste to help the environment; there will be a water tank available for refills.

Message from Paul

It is with sadness that I say this but I am leaving Hetton ASC with immediate effect. This has not been an easy decision to make, especially as the club has been a part of my life for over 10 years. However, over the past few months it has become clear that I need to take a break.
The reasons for my leaving are not knee jerk and I have mulled over them for a while now.
First of all, I would like to thank Steven for asking me to go poolside and setting me on my journey as a coach with the club. Over those years I have being part of a club which was fun, enjoyable and welcoming. Being part of the coaching team that saw the club through a difficult patch and watching it grow (until COVID hit) was the most enjoyable part.
I would also like to say thank you to the committee. Over the years it has changed, evolved and is now at its strongest. I hope the vision it has for the club will see it become bigger and better.
Most of all though, I would like to say thank you to the swimmers past and present. Without you coaching wouldn’t have been as fun as it was. We may not have always seen eye to eye once you saw the session plan but I always knew you’d give it your all. You were all a joy to coach and made every session what it was, FUN. Without your chat, comebacks and jokes sessions would have been boring and tedious as it would have been me just telling you what to do. Nobody needs that!!
Thank you for the past 10 years and I wish Hetton ASC a massive good luck.

Junior League 2023 Final

Well done to our Junior League 2023 swimmers. You all tried hard and swam your best. Thank you to our cheerleaders/ spectators – you were amazing 👏. Another proud day for Hetton ASC .
Swimming isn’t all about winning, it’s team work and having fun with friends.

Derwentside ASC Charity Meet – Meet Info

Warm up / session times are :
Entry to the Pool area will not be before 8:15am.
Saturday & Sunday
Warm Up – 8:30 am & 12 noon
Start – 9:30 am and 1 pm
Spectators:
Entry for Spectators will not be before 8:30 am
Charges:
Saturday & Sunday – Payment by Cash or Card
1 x Session Ticket – £4
1 x Full DAY Ticket – £6
1 x WEEKEND Ticket – £10
Concessions – 1 x Session £3: 1 x Day Ticket £4
Children 12 and under -accompanied by adults, will be admitted FREE
Start sheets will be available at the start of each session to purchase for 50p
Raffle :
We have some fantastic raffle prizes donated for our charity gala; tickets will be available at the entry desk.
Car parking:
There is free parking next to the Louisa Centre, but time restricted parking in Asda, Aldi and Iceland car parks.
Café: The in-house cafe will be open. There is also a café in Asda directly opposite.
Medals:
Once the results are displayed, Medals will be available from the medal desk situated just outside the changing Village.

Junior League Review

Junior league rounds 1 and 3 were unfortunately cancelled due to pool shortages.

The gala in April, 32 swimmers swam to their high abilities to show off our small club. Some great results, times, and feedback for our coaching team to continuously improve.

Well done to all our swimmers and congratulations to our 4 swimmers who took 1st place, Addison Alexander, Adam McNabola, josh Finch and Jessica Tindale .

This gala is a great opportunity to develop our junior coaching team. Well done Scarlet, Emma, Jenna, Mollie and Olly.

The final will be on Saturday 8th July.
